Tight Stacks

I just cashed in a brick-and-mortar poker tournament, and I pretty much spent the entire online poker tournament as the short stack. I was living on the edge for the majority of the game, so I held onto my chips with a pretty wicked death grip. The first poker online hand that I won helped me sit out the next dry run-I drew Ace-King unsuited, and raised before the flop I got two callers and when I flopped top two pair with no flush or straight draws, I went all in and got one caller. I doubled up with that hand, and I was tempted to start trying to bully my table, but I was riding a dry streak and I didn’t think I’d be seeing any good cards in the near future. Besides, I was at a pretty aggressive table and I didn’t think I’d be able to steal any blinds. I was right-I didn’t get any playable cards for a while, and I didn’t take any chances. Since I didn’t blow my chips on cards that weren’t going to pay off, I still had some betting power by the time my luck turned around. When you’re not getting any good cards, fold them. Just hang on to your chips until the cards start to go your way.
