Goddess
This is a good poem to check out.Your gasping, oh goddess, your gasping, alone, guides me through the flowers in your hair, it guides me through the tranquil pulse in your ears; and the watery sigh in your eyes fills the fog with the moisture of lyrical tears. When I look for the rhythm, or the root, or the fossilized air that formed your first tearand the empty rivers search for your heartnothing will guide me more than your gasping: your gasping, alone, guides me through your mouth: Full of uncoiled tongue, full of arches, and teeth of beaded shells, with a thousand tiny pockets of ambushing fire. When I search the rhythm of your heart, and the nesting songs of birds cup your breasts, and the tempo of seconds puncture the day, nothing will guide me as perfectly, or as pleasurably as your gasping: your gasping, alone, divides the sound of drowned sheets from a drop of heat a desert could express; it becomes the voice of nymphs reciting verses of sun to listening bees; and the waters of the sky flow through the wings of your belly buttonwhere your gasping, alone, guides me through the heavenly valley of your thighs.
